Raised in a partly independent island nation, I grew up acutely aware of oppression, civil rights, and the struggle for equity. The Irish experience—centuries of subjugation under British rule, from land dispossession and forced famine to cultural erasure and systemic discrimination—has profoundly shaped my understanding of history’s enduring grip on identity and place. The violent conflict on our island, that claimed thousands of innocent lives, is part of a colonial legacy that still lingers today.
Living for decades in regions similarly scarred by colonialism—where race, gender, and religion further complicate its effects—has deepened my post-colonial perspective. As a father and filmmaker, I use the camera to question who we are, think about where we are headed, and to question imperialist power structures. My work is driven by a commitment to building more sustainable, just, and peaceful societies—for our children and the world they will inherit.
If you're looking for a director or professional cinematographer, someone with excellent storytelling skills, someone who cares, be that for independent film (fiction or documentary), corporate social responsibility or non-profit purposes, please reach out and connect with me here. I am extremely passionate about what I do and give everything I commit to 110%. You won't be disappointed and I can assure you’re in good hands.
My clients like me and, most importantly, the high quality of the work I produce.
Take care out there,
Stephen.
